My name is Jane Kadzo Sulubu. I am a student at the Equip Africa Institute pursuing a certificate course in social work and community development.  I am the firstborn in a family of six.  Two sisters are in high school, one is not learning, and the other two are in primary school.

My life before the scholarship was hard since I finished my secondary school education. I had the goal of proceeding to college but my parents could not afford to pay for my tuition and upkeep. I had lost hope of joining any institution.  I was desperate until I got this scholarship. My hope resurrected and my studies commenced.

I lack words to explain the feeling I had the time I was selected. It was a moment of joy and happiness because God had opened a way where there seemed to be no way. It was something that I did not expect. My parents also felt the same.

The scholarship has paid my fees since the time I joined college. I have no problem with fees and I am proceeding well with my studies. The scholarship will help me achieve my dreams in life. As the saying goes, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. I believe this is the most important step in my life. It will help me become who I want to be and live the life I aspire to. I also have a dream of helping others who are in a situation like mine upon completion of my studies.

I am thankful. [The scholarship] has not only brought hope to me, but also to my family.
