The KEMSFED Project has invested in strengthening capacity in data collection, processing and reporting to support management of the marine fisheries. To enhance data collection by the BMUs and the fisheries staff at counties in charge of the BMUs, a capacity building training is currently on-going.
The training entails actual training on the data requirements as per prescribed forms and how to use mobiles applications to collect data and send the data to designated database.
Trainees (from Mombasa County), comprising of BMU members and fisheries staff, successfully underwent a two day training on data collection, processing and reporting .
